Grace Chan,

Grace
Chan
graduated from the University of Toronto in 1974 with an Honours
B.Sc in Physiology and Psychology. In 1976 she completed massage
therapy training at the 3HO Foundation. Together with Christine
Sutherland, she founded Sutherland-Chan School & Teaching Clinic
in 1978. In 1980, working with Christine Sutherland and Rhona Birenbaum,
she began opening professional massage therapy clinics in Toronto
under the name Sutherland-Chan Clinics Inc. Grace has also taught
continuing education courses for massage therapists in Hong Kong
and throughout Canada and the United States.
In
1998 Grace graduated from the Canadian College of Osteopathy with
a Doctorate in Osteopathic Manual Practice. Throughout her many
other activities, Grace has always maintained a part-time private
practice in massage therapy, and now blends massage and osteopathic
treatment approaches in her work.
Grace
was responsible for the establishment of the American Massage Therapy
Association
Foundation in 1991 and continued as President until 1995. She also
served as the Canadian
District representative on the AMTA Board of Directors from 1987-1989.
